About Beiersdorf

Founded in 1882, Beiersdorf is a global skincare company with 20,000 employees in over 160 affiliates worldwide. Beiersdorf owns some of the world's most recognizable skincare brands, such as Nivea, Eucerin, Labello, 8x4, Elastoplast/Hansaplast, Aquaphor, or Hidrofugal.

Beiersdorf and Productsup

Beiersdorf came to Productsup looking for multiple solutions to complement their PIM system and maximize ecommerce potential. PIM systems are excellent resources for basic product data management. The challenges of commerce complexity mean that companies need more than a PIM to tailor large amounts of data to be exported to their global customer base.

Challenges

Increasing commerce complexity limited creativity and growth in their marketing departments, as teams were preoccupied with manipulating data to suit channel and language requirements on web platforms, by retailers, and on marketplaces. With so many markets, customers, and regions worldwide, Beiersdorf needed a scalable solution to transform, enhance, and syndicate all of its product content. With so many SKUs, Beiersdorf also needed to automate as many manual tasks as possible.

Solutions

Beiersdorf has been working with Productsup for some years now. Together, technical teams from Productsup and Beiersdorf have created several bespoke templates and API connections that facilitate seamless product content syndication and feed management for their millions of SKUs.

Apart from standard data templates for major marketplaces and social commerce channels, the Productsup team was able to design and build templates for Beiersdorf. This enabled Beiersdorf to continue growing its global market share while dramatically reducing the number of manual tasks that were straining its ability to react quickly to trends or to experiment with new sales channels.

Results

Working together with Productsup, Beiersdorf has freed up its operations teams, so they can focus more time on exploring new markets.

And the teams haven’t just been increasing their market reach and turnover. By implementing automated connections to their retailers and other platforms, local teams save up to 166 hours (22 days) per year on each connection.

Productsup proved to be a major advantage for providing a robust solution to manage and optimize product data across a complex global network. The partnership with Productsup enhanced operational efficiency and data quality but also significantly boosted online performance. Beiersdorf continues to leverage Productsup's capabilities to support its global product content syndication strategy and ensure retail partners of various technical implementation levels are reached and served.
