Snapchat dynamic ads

On Snapchat, Dynamic Ads are the best way to personalize ads for your customers. Snap uses your catalogs and the Snap Pixel or Mobile Measurement Partner to automate ad creation as well as a lot of the targeting and promises to drive purchases to your website or in-app. Once you have uploaded your catalog to the platform, Snap will help you create an engaging, personalized shopping experience.

Snap is not the biggest social commerce platform, but its users are very engaged and overwhelmingly from the Gen Z and millennial demographics. Using Snapchat well can drive a business’ P2C strategy.

How do Snapchat dynamic product ads work?

The best way to get the most out of your Snapchat campaigns is to use a P2C feed management solution to upload large amounts of ads already in a dynamic format. Snap can then work on the targeting and distribution of your ads once you have entered some parameters. Although Snap can automatically create dynamic ads, your catalog can also provide these to Snap.

The Snap Pixel uses your Product ID to pass information back to your Page View, View Content, Add to Cart, and Purchase metrics. You need at least 1000 snapchatters to be able to use Snap’s Dynamic Ads.

How do you create Snap dynamic ads?

To create dynamic ads, go to the Ads Manager, then select ‘Create Ads’ and ‘Advanced Create.’ Then you select the ‘Catalog Sales’ objective for your campaign. Then simply select the relevant catalog from the drop-down. Your assets will be pulled from this catalog to create the ads.

To work on the targeting, you need to create ad sets– which are similar to Google’s ad groups. Define your Product Set, then select 'All Products’ or select from one of your pre-created Product Sets, which you can edit. Once you select your Product Set, you will see your audience size estimation on the right-hand side.

The next step is to choose the Ad Format you want to use. You can have either a Single Image Ad or a Collection Ad. You can then select where you want the users to go from the ad. Either to a web view of your website, your app, or where they can download your app.

Once you have completed these steps, your dynamic ads are ready to go live, and you can focus on your product-to-consumer (P2C) strategy for the platform.
